Hello Field Hockey Fans:

We are excited for another Fall Season at EGYFH. Recently, we were informed that Lead The Way (LTW) will not be offering a Fall Program this year.  LTW is the club that has organized the Saturday morning youth league that EGYFH has participated in for years. Their responsibilities have included securing field time, arranging officials and creating schedules for the Saturday morning games.  EGYFH is working diligently to step up and fill the void resulting from LTW’s withdrawal as described below and we appreciate your patience in the process. 

So, what are we doing?  We are reaching out to invite other teams to play on Saturdays.  LTW is referring their players to us.  EGYFH may see an uptick in participation.  We are seeking additional field locations.  It is not likely that EG will be available for 6 weeks.  We are reaching out to officials and may even ask our own HS players to officiate.  We will keep you updated throughout this process.

Sunday night practices should not change at all (pending field approval).  We are currently trying to secure field locations for 6 weeks of Saturday morning game play.  Three weeks in EG is what we request (awaiting approval).  We have asked for more, but it is difficult to know in advance.  The HS athletic schedules need to be finalized and the HS takes priority on the field.  Casie, the EG Athletic Director and Rachel from Parks and Rec have always been supportive of our program and of youth sports, so we are lucky to work with them.

Our ultimate goal is to create an experience with the same opportunities (6 weeks - 6 practices, 6 games). We also are aiming to have the same time frames.  Sunday times should not change.  Grades 1-5 from 5:00pm-6:15pm and Grades 6-8 from 6:15pm-7:30pm.  One change that could occur would be moving grade 5 to the later session depending on numbers.  We also hope to keep Saturday games  from 8am - noon. 

This development will not impact the Middle School Club team.
